I don't know enough about Ferrari's to know the rarity or desirability of this model. The NBC article says it is 1 of 99 GTS models. And I guess shitty old beat up cars are the "in" thing now with collectors.

It caught fire, so you know it's authentic. (Old jokes die hard.)

It's not the desirability of the model.

It's the stupidity of their buyers. Everyone who grew up with the Ferrari name is now old enough to afford and buy them, so they could charge what ever they wanted and someone would buy it. Just so they could say "look at my rare and golden turd".

Wrong model, not even a real one.. I'd spend my $ on the MGB fake. Ironically, my dad's MG which we called the Beuller Temptation Special was the basis for the car. Who knew. I still have the tailpipe tip.
